Expert Witness
Dartmouth Group provides professional Expert Witness services for solicitors and their clients in relation to property defects and disrepair claims. Our Chartered Building Surveyors provide independent, evidence-based assessments supported by extensive building surveying experience.
We are regularly instructed by solicitors to undertake single and joint inspections, particularly in cases involving tenants of Local Authorities and Housing Associations where concerns have been raised regarding the condition of a property.
Expert Witness Building Surveys
Our surveyors carry out detailed inspections to identify defects, assess their extent and consider the remedial works required. Following the inspection, we prepare clear and comprehensive reports outlining our findings, recommendations and estimated costs where appropriate.
Our assessments can consider relevant legislation and guidance, including the Housing Act 2004 and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
Independent Expert Reporting
Expert Witness reports are prepared independently and objectively, providing solicitors and the Courts with clear professional evidence to assist with property-related disputes and claims.
Our reports are prepared in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and the requirements applying to Expert Witness evidence.
